The coastal run

The coastal run is our longest and today wettest and coldest route. It runs through Prenton, Upton, Saughall Massie, Moreton, Hoylake, West Kirby then into Greasby, Woodchurch, lower Prenton and a bit of Tranmere. Sometimes we even add Heswall on if the logistics favour us.

On a good day it's an amazing route, with lovely views and beautiful coastline. Today it was a little grim, it barely stopped raining, it was finger numbingly cold and the route wasn't too kind with time between deliveries. Nonetheless it was still enjoyable, although I must confess to being a bit heavy legged for the rest of the day.

On the plus side a customer contacted us after receiving a Christmas card, looked us up online and decided she wanted to send her Christmas cards through us too. As soon as I got home, I then received a message saying I had 76 Christmas cards to pick up from one of our post boxes. This sends us well over 100 cards early in December. Our target we set out as a business was 1000, so we could raise £100 for our designated Christmas charity 'Wirral Stroke Survivors Art Group'.

This month is a huge month for us, obviously there's Christmas and the Christmas post boxes, we have numerous meetings set up with certain establishments which I won't mention publicly for now. But the service we can offer them along with the savings could really help them, and also help our profile as the best option for all local mail.

Earlier in the year when we first started I delivered 7000 leaflets across the Wirral offering our services. From that leaflet I picked up 1 client which was Walsh's Autos, they form the backbone of our mail delivery. 5 months down the line we have a new leaflet which goes out with our daily post and already, as that leaflet is landing with legitimate post we are getting far more enquiries. Whether that's because we are a bit more known or the leaflet being delivered with addressed mail I don't know. But it's great to compare then to know and see how far we have evolved into something that will be essential to Wirrals growth going forward.

I am desperate to share information with you, which is hopefully happening this month but until I get confirmation (hopefully soon) I don't want to jinx it. It could be potentially huge for us, but more importantly it could be huge for Wirral residents, businesses and services. Keep checking in as I am expecting to hear some form of confirmation this week. Until then, don't forget to send your Wirral Christmas cards through our post box hosts.

Not just a postman.
